What Actually Is Life Coaching?

Forward-focused practice that helps you clarify goals, overcome obstacles, and take action towards the life you want.

Your coach asks powerful questions. They help you see patterns, challenge limiting beliefs, and identify what's actually stopping you. They hold you accountable to the commitments you make.

Different coaches specialise in different areas - career, relationships, life transitions, purpose. All work with the principle that you have the answers; you just need support accessing them.

The common thread: coaching is about action. Not endless processing. You leave sessions with clear next steps and someone who'll check if you did them.

Sessions are typically 60-90 minutes, weekly or fortnightly. Most coaching relationships last 3-6 months minimum.

What to Expect

You'll talk about what you want and what's stopping you. Your coach will ask questions that make you think. Sometimes uncomfortable ones.

They'll help you set specific, actionable goals. Not vague wishes. Clear steps you can actually take.

At the end of each session, you'll commit to actions before the next one. Your coach will hold you to those commitments. If you didn't do them, they'll ask why. Not judgementally - but directly.

Between sessions, you do the work. That's where change happens. The sessions are just the container for accountability and insight.
