What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a hands-on Japanese therapy that uses gentle pressure and stretching techniques to release tension, restore energy flow, and support overall wellbeing. Working along your body’s energy pathways, or meridians, your therapist will apply pressure using their fingers, palms, and thumbs, helping to clear blockages and bring your body back into balance. It’s deeply relaxing but can also ease physical aches, reduce stress, and support your body’s natural healing process. Perfect if you’re feeling out of sync, run down, or carrying tension you can’t quite shake.

Relieves tension

Shiatsu releases tightness in your muscles and loosens areas of physical tension, helping you feel more relaxed and comfortable in your body. It’s particularly good for back, neck, and shoulder issues, but works across the whole body.

Restores energy

Shiatsu is based on balancing your body’s energy (Ki or Qi). If you’ve been feeling sluggish, drained, or just off-balance, this treatment can help restore that natural flow, leaving you feeling more energised and refreshed.

Reduces stress

This gentle but powerful therapy calms your nervous system, helping you switch off from daily stress. You’ll leave feeling grounded, lighter, and clearer, with a renewed sense of calm.
