What is Gua Sha Massage?

Gua Sha Massage is an ancient Chinese healing technique that uses a smooth-edged tool to gently scrape the skin, helping to stimulate blood flow, release muscle tension and encourage lymphatic drainage. It’s often used to relieve tightness in the neck, shoulders and back but can also support the body’s natural detox process. While it can leave light marks (called ‘sha’) as part of the process, these fade quickly and many people feel an immediate release of tension and a boost in overall wellbeing.

Muscle Tension Relief

The scraping technique targets tight areas, helping to break down knots and relieve muscle stiffness. It’s especially effective for neck, shoulder and upper back tension – perfect if you’re feeling knotted up from stress or desk work.

Boost Circulation

Gua Sha increases blood flow to the surface of the skin, encouraging oxygen and nutrients to reach your muscles. This can speed up recovery, reduce inflammation and leave you feeling energised.

Detox & Lymphatic Support

By stimulating the lymphatic system, this treatment helps your body flush out toxins and reduce puffiness. It’s a great option if you’re feeling sluggish or dealing with fluid retention.
