We have arrived at the Autumn Equinox

As the sun begins to sink lower in the sky and the nights become chilly and dark, our senses often notice the shift before our eyes catch the changing colours. The energy of summer has come to an end in the northern half of the world.

On the equinox, day and night are roughly 12 hours long.

The autumn equinox is a gentle reminder to reflect on the months gone by and review what’s no longer working. It’s a chance to adjust your routine and make space for something new. 🍁

Just doing one thing differently can enrich the soul enough to bring about a welcome change.

Suggested Autumn Rituals

Join a yoga class (obviously mine… jokes!) – yoga and meditation can really help you tune in to what’s nourishing you and what’s not.

Clean, then cleanse your space – I like to use frankincense, but you can use sage, palo santo, rosemary, or a rose water spray.

Collect some autumn items – leaves, fruits, vegetables.

Light a candle.

Sit quietly with your hands on your heart for a few minutes, just listening to your breath.

Find something you are grateful for.

Tune in to what does not bring you joy.

Ask yourself – your heart – how can I bring more joy into my life?

Happy Autumn Equinox

Love, with yoga and healing,
