Our story
Transcend began with one person's journey through burnout, anxiety and loss — and became a community built on the belief that wellbeing should be welcoming, accessible and human.
The beginning
Before Transcend, life looked successful on the outside but felt unsustainable on the inside. Years in the corporate world, constantly pushing forward, eventually led to complete burnout.
For almost three years, chronic vertigo and severe anxiety made even leaving the house difficult. It became clear that this wasn't something to simply manage — it was something to understand and heal from, physically and emotionally.
That meant looking at the deeper story: a difficult childhood, losing my mum as a teenager, Abuse and isolation lead to years of struggling with self-worth and my identity. Slowly, through movement, healing and personal development, the connections between physical, emotional and social wellbeing became impossible to ignore.

The inspiration
The experience of searching for the right people and a safe space to simply be became the seed of Transcend. In 2017, Transcend in the Community CIC was founded alongside my good friend Randeep, built on a shared belief that wellbeing, connection and support should be accessible to everyone.
Transcend Studios followed — not as a glossy fitness brand, but as the kind of place I had needed myself. Somewhere wellbeing felt welcoming, accessible and human. Not intimidating, not exclusive, and never about fitting a certain mould.
Growth
What started in Monton grew because people kept showing up — for themselves, and for each other.
2017
The first Transcend started small, with a simple idea: feeling better happens through connection and community, not just classes.
After lockdown
Transcend found its permanent home in Eccles — bringing movement, healing, creativity, food, friendship and community together under one roof.
2022
The community café opened, run with the support of an incredible team of volunteers — another way to bring people together and give back through the CIC.
2026
This year, Transcend entered a new chapter. We expanded upwards at our Eccles home, creating even more space for our community to connect, move, heal and create.
At the same time, Transcend began reaching across Greater Manchester with the opening of BEYOND in Stretford — taking the spirit, values and sense of belonging at the heart of Transcend into a brand new community.

Today
Over the years, many wonderful people have come and gone — teachers, practitioners, volunteers and members of our tribe. Each of them has played a part in our story and will always remain part of the Transcend family.
The idea of community has never stood still; it continues to grow and evolve with us. But the heart of Transcend has never changed: to create the kind of space that helped me find my way back to myself.
A place where people can come exactly as they are, discover what they need, connect with others and find their own way to feel better and live better.
Book a class, a treatment or just come and see the space for yourself.
